Chitwan. A total of 521 applications of online fraud have been registered in Chitwan. According to these applications, 12,22,84,338 were cheated online in the last fiscal year.
According to Chief Superintendent of Police (SP) Rameshwor Poudel of the District Police Office, Rs 22.9 million 98 thousand 643 has been returned. He said that in recent times, fraud has been done by sending links through online marketing, social and network. He also said that he was cheated to get gifts.
According to SP Poudel, fraud cases are being received daily. Normally, complaints of fraud ranging from Rs 200 to lakhs have been received.
He urged people to be aware of the online fraud as the number of applications of online fraud is coming almost daily. He has urged people to accept requests sent by unknown people, do not open unnecessary links.
Similarly, 390 applications related to cybercrime were registered in the last fiscal year. Of these, 375 applications have been settled. There are 15 applications pending. According to him, the applications received here have been worked out in coordination with the Nepal Police Province Office. According to him, in the previous fiscal year 2081÷082, this number was 411. Of them, 398 applications have been cleared. Of these, 13 remained.
