Kathmandu. The Department of Inland Revenue (IRD) has urged consumers to participate in the Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program. Issuing a notice, the department has asked the consumers who have made cash transactions to register their original bill.

According to Janakraj Sharma, Deputy Director General of the Department and Joint Secretary , on July 1, 2019,the Deputy Director General of the Department and {{} (} Rs. Consumers who have purchased goods or services worth more than Rs 100 in cash and have taken original PAN and VAT bill can participate in the incentive program.

‘We have launched a new website prize dot ird.gov..“Eligible consumers who have purchased goods and services worth more than Rs 100 at a time within Nepal by paying cash can upload their bill by visiting the website,” Sharma said. ’

The department has also clarified that they do not need to enter the bill (entry) as the transaction system has already been included in the system of the gift program through the QR QR system.

According to the Department, consumers who have purchased goods and services worth more than Rs 100 through and and QR will no longer need to register the bill. from the QR to and the same transaction number has been entered into the department’s system for gifting, so that number will be eligible for gift.

However, the department has drawn the attention of all consumers to keep the bills safe as the original bill becomes mandatory after the declaration of gifts. The department has also urged consumers to ask for the original VAT and PAN bill of their purchase and to inform the department if they do not receive the bill. 

The department is preparing to publish the results of the first 15 days of the taxpayer incentive program implemented from July 17 next week.“Technically, we are ready. In the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle also announced to launch the Tax Payers Incentive Gift Programme to bring the taxpayers into the tax system and to develop a culture of bill taking. As per the work procedure, a consumer will be provided with Rs 100,000 as tax deduction every day and Rs 100,000 as a bumper gift for every 15 day (two people a month).
