Kathmandu. Chief Executive Officer of CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC) Kanchan Sapkota has said that necessary homework has been completed regarding the operation of the auction market and bringing the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) Fund Nepal. Sapkota said this while speaking at the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
She informed that coordination is being made with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) and the concerned agencies for the operation of the auction market. According to her, the process has been started so that CDSC will take the responsibility of the settlement of the auction market and NEPSE will take the responsibility of operation. She said that preparations are being made so that the results of the work related to this will be seen soon.
Sapkota also informed that CDSC and NEPSE have prepared the necessary preparations and action plan for bringing NRN fund to Nepal. He said that the results are yet to come.
She said that CDSC is working on priority in technology and infrastructure development to provide more effective services to investors. She stressed that CDSC should be technically strong and capable as it is a depository to manage the holdings of about 80 lakh investors.
Saying that all necessary works will be taken forward to make the service delivery of CDSC more effective, Sapkota said that no compromise should be made in the development of infrastructure. He said that attention should also be paid to the budget and necessary resource management to build the best infrastructure as per the capacity and need of the organization.
