Kathmandu. The food items to be sent to the flood victims have expired. A joint team of the Department of Food, Technology and Quality Control and the Food, Technology and Quality Control Division Office Kathmandu conducted a monitoring and found that the food items to be sent for relief have expired.

During the monitoring, rice, flour, roasted food items and chips meant for distribution to the flood victims were found to be in an expired state .

According to the department, the relief materials stored at the Urban Development and Building Construction Department at Babarmahal, Police Training Center at Samakhusi and Ra dha Swami at were found to be in expired condition.

in the Urban Department and Building Construction Department, Yashodha Foods Pvt. Ltd. (Rupandehi) has been found to have expired ‘Current Chips’ and Giridhari Foods (Butwal) ‘Bhuja’ has expired.

Chocofun and a packet of five kilograms of chakki flour and Radha Swami Satsang Jayashree Usina rice (25 kg were found to have expired. The department has taken further action by destroying the food grains which were found unusable by the consumers.
