Kathmandu. The road inside the gate of Manakamana Cable Car at Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-4 in Chitwan has collapsed. The road inside the gate of the cable car has collapsed after the flow of the Trishuli River hit the suspension bridge connecting Silingtar of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3 in Gorkha district following incessant rain.

According to Rudra Upreti, ward chair of Ichhakamana rural municipality-4, the main highway has cracked and the inner road caved after the river changed its course following the rain and the current of the river hit the suspension bridge.

The Manakamana cable car service has been suspended for now after the road collapsed. Ward chair Upreti said that the river has been continuously hitting the bridge, which has increased the risk in the surrounding areas. See the rest of the picture:
