Kathmandu. The Narayangadh-Muglin road section has come into operation. Vehicles heading towards Pokhara have resumed operations after the landslide piled up on the Namsikhola bridge due to incessant rains was cleared.

According to the Road Division Office, Chitwan, the landslide occurred at 7:55 am. According to Engineer Krishna Acharya, Information Officer of the Office, the road came into operation at 12:15 pm. Vehicles coming to Narayangadh from Pokhara and Narayangadh to Pokhara have been moving towards their destinations.

Landslides have occurred at 11 different places along the Malekhu-Muglin road section of the Prithvi Highway due to incessant rains. According to Engineer Sachindra Mishra, information officer of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project, a landslide along the road section has occurred at Shilatbazar. The road has been obstructed due to a landslide in the Gomti River near Benighat Bazaar. The road has been obstructed due to a landslide with mud from above Krishnabhir.

According to Information Officer Mishra, the road section has been obstructed due to the landslide at Jyamireghat Chowkibhir while small landslides with stones have fallen at several places from Hugdi Khola to Jawang Khola.

Landslides along with stones, mud and trees have fallen on about 200 meters of the road at three different places around Fisling, while half of the road around 30 meters has cracked 30 meters. Landslides with stones have fallen at Chumlingtar. Information Officer Mishra said that half of the 50-meter road has collapsed at two places in Dharapani.

The culvert is being opened at the same place and the road has been disrupted due to landslides in Ghoptebhir and Simaldhara. According to Engineer Mishra, the work of clearing the landslide is going on in all the places. If there is no major landslide, the vehicle will be removed by the evening. He said that the equipment of the contractor company responsible for the construction of the road is being used for the removal work.
