Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has introduced a new bank of one thousand rupees denomination. According to the Department of Currency Management, the original design of the new note and purple color have been retained while the pale green circle has been maintained.

The new note includes additional security features such as water-print, color-changing security and thread The bank said . The obverse of the note has a picture of Mount Everest, a waterprint of rhododendron, the touch-recognizable Roman letter ‘m’ and a horizontal line for the visually impaired.

3.5 mm wide security thread has ‘nrb’ and ‘1000’ marked , which appear red when viewed directly and green when tilted.

Similarly, a picture of Bhagwati is also included on the right side of Mount Everest, which appears in golden to green color when the angle is changed. The note has the signature of Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel. On the background, there is a picture of twin elephants ‘Ram’ and ‘Laxman’ born in the government elephant of Chitwan, seven rhododendrons representing all the seven provinces and of the historical pillar of La hanchowk at Hanuman Dhoka.

According to the bank’s bank, the distribution of new notes from to has started from 000001 to 999999. The bank has urged the general public to use as it is the property of the nation.
