Police Notice:
Digital banking fraudsters use technology as well as human psychology, they know that if people are shown fear and greed, they react quickly, so your account is being closed, your card is being blocked, you have won a prize, you have got a bonus in your account, you have got a special loan facility and you have become a millionaire.
Not only the general public but also big banks and financial institutions can be at risk in banking fraud. Yes, in the banking fraud, Italy’s largest bank Intesa Sanpaolo has also been deceived by the fake voice created by AI, 95 million euros (about 16.58 billion rupees) has been stolen from the bank’s branch. According to Italian media, more than half of the fraudulent money has been returned, but about 36 million euros are yet to be returned. The fraudster tries to win your trust before stealing your money. His language may be polite, his voice may be believable, he can say the name of the bank correctly, he can even know some of your personal details. But that does not mean that he is a real bank employee.
Notice made public by Italian media:
So don’t believe just by knowing the voice, knowing the name or seeing the logo of the bank, first confirm, think and then act, one click can make our job easier, but the wrong click can cause great risk. An IT can secure a transaction, but if the same IT is given to the wrong person, then there can be a problem. So before blaming the technology, we need to learn its safe use.
Digital means have made it easier to send money, pay bills, make purchases, and do other financial transactions. However, with the increase in convenience, the risk has also increased. Therefore, while using digital banking, not only convenience, but also security should be given equal priority, due to a few moments of carelessness, you can lose the money accumulated by years of hard work, so make a habit of thinking not twice but thousands of times before believing in any unknown link, offer, or message.
