21 kg gold smuggling case: Three Chinese nationals arrested with gold after conducting recce for a week

Kathmandu. 21 kg of gold seized from Budhanilkantha has been brought by a Chinese national. An investigation conducted by the Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku revealed that the gold was brought to Nepal by a Chinese national.

According to an official involved in the investigation, three Chinese nationals were involved in the act.

According to the police, They had kept 21 kg of smuggled gold in Budhanilkantha with the help of a Nepali national. According to police sources, the information about the gold being brought in Budhanilkantha had reached the Home Minister Sudan Gurung. According to sources, the police have started the operation on the instructions of Gurung.

On the basis of this information, the police conducted a recce for a week at the place where the gold was kept. After a week’s recce and the details of suspicious{{} {{} people , the police recovered the gold. The police have also arrested some people in this case.

Police also confiscated 10 kg of gold and the remaining 11kg of gold to be refined.

Although it is suspected that the gold was smuggled out of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), further investigation is underway and they are preparing to inform about the matter onFriday, police said.
