Kathmandu. A Chinese national has been arrested with illegal currency worth Rs 4.637 million from Tribhuvan International Airport (Tribhuvan .The police have arrested a 72-year-old Chinese national Suolong who was on his way to Hong Kong via the Pacific Airways .
According to the Airport Security Office, the currency of various countries including Nepali currency was found in his luggage during a routine security check at the airport.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj Kumar Silwal and spokesperson of the Airport Security Office, he was arrested with the cash after it was found necessary to investigate the source and purpose of the seized currency.
According to the police, police confiscated 1.1 million Nepali rupees, Chinese Yuan 51,790, US $ 5,965, Hong Kong $ 49,990, Euro and Australian $50 from Suo lang.
The arrested Su olang has been sent to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, Harihar Bhawan, Pulchowk, Lalitpur for further investigation and necessary legal action as per the prevailing law.
