Kathmandu. The assets of Nepal Rastra Bank have crossed Rs 40 trillion. According to the interim balance sheet statement released by Rastra Bank till mid-September 2083, the total assets of Rastra Bank have crossed Rs 4.044 trillion.
The total assets of the bank stood at Rs 3,874.98 billion at the end of the last fiscal year.
The share of foreign currency in the total assets of the bank is the largest according to the details of the bank. As of mid-August, the foreign currency assets in the Rastra bank have reached Rs 38.99 trillion.
The total investment in foreign securities is Rs. 2.743 trillion, fixed deposits in foreign banks are Rs. 63 9.74 billion, gold certificates are Rs. 2.53 billion, cash and banks ( and IMF ( assets are worth Rs. 18.44 billion.
The bank’s local currency assets stood at Rs 144.29 billion at the end of August 2019. This includes gold and silver assets of Rs 91.67 billion, government bonds Rs 11.64 billion, and debentures and fixed deposits Rs 12.40 billion. Similarly, foreign currency liabilities of stood at Rs 52.34 billion and local currency liabilities amounted to Rs 2,876.52 billion.
Under the local currency liability, the bank has liabilities of } and financial institutions , the notes and currency in circulation are 794 billion , the deposits of banks and financial institutions are 346.07 billion and the deposits of the Government of Nepal are 301.20 billion.The paid-up capital of Nepal Rastra Bank has increased to Rs 5 billion. Similarly, the reserve fund of the bank has increased from Rs 1,085.73 billion in mid-July to Rs 1,110.20 billion in mid-August.
