Kathmandu. Former President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajendra Malla has expressed dissatisfaction over the attitude and working style of the businessmen by the government. He said this while speaking in the context of the election of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry .
Although the role of private sector is important for the economic prosperity of the country, he accused the government of taking control of the problems of entrepreneurs instead of listening to them.
Similarly, former president Malla said that the government’s ‘shut first and listen’ policy has badly affected the environment for investment and business in the country.
Stating that there is a big difference between the government’s assurances and practices, he argues that entrepreneurs are facing problems due to lack of policy clarity and cumbersome arrangements.He clarified that the country’s prosperity was not possible unless the state encouraged the private sector by abandoning the control-oriented mindset.
