Kathmandu. India’s total exports of goods and services, including goods and services, grew by 4.22 per cent to USD 860.09 billion in the financial year 2025/26 (April 2025-March 2026). The country’s Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal gave this information while talking to reporters in New Delhi.

According to him, the export of goods has increased by 0.93 percent this year compared to the previous year. Merchandise exports increased from $437.7 billion in the previous fiscal year to $441.78 billion in 2025-26.

Growth in exports of engineering goods, petroleum products, mica, coal and other minerals, other food items and handicrafts was the main reason for the improvement in export figures, Agarwal said.

These sectors have also performed positively in a challenging global environment. Imports, however, have grown faster than exports. Imports for the fiscal year 2025-26 were about $970 billion, an increase of 6.47 percent over the previous year. The country’s overall trade deficit widened to $119.3 billion this year from $94.66 billion in the previous year, the official said.
