Kathmandu. A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested a person on the charge of cheating people in the name of sending parcels and gifts online.
The arrested is Susan Thegim Limbu aka Sujan Limbu, 27, of Fakphugtum Rural Municipality-6 of Ilam, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Rameshwor Karki, spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
He said that he was arrested on the charge of swindling Rs 200,000 on the claim that US dollars, jewelry and other gifts had already arrived at the branch of DHL Company at Kathmandu Airport by chatting with a Nepali woman in the name of Rohan Rajput on social networking site. ‘
According to the preliminary investigation of the police, he had contacted more than 40 Nepali women through WhatsApp number 9700435331 and deposited them in various bank accounts.
Spokesperson Karki said that the arrested Limbu has been sent to the District Police Range, Bhadrakali today for further investigation and action.
