Kathmandu. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has suggested that Gen-G order to open fire during the agitation should be punished by digging into . The NHRC made the recommendation while making public the report of the committee formed to investigate the Gen-G agitation on September 23 and 2 4.
The Commission also noted that excessive force was used in the Gen-G movement.
Who gave the order to open fire? Who died from whose bullet ? The commission has also suggested taking action by inquiring into the question of criminal liability.
The NHRC has also suggested that further investigation should be carried out as most of the people who died were found to have been hit by metal bullets even though the then Chief District Officer of Kathmandu had given an order to use rubber bullets during the Gen-G agitation.
On September 7, 19 people were killed in gunshot wounds during the Gen-G movement, and 23 more people were killed by bullets on the same day.
