Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Balendra Shah has said the government has made a plan to provide free education and health services to the underprivileged. Prime Minister Shah said this while responding to the queries of lawmakers in the House of Representatives.

In his response to a question from Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Pramesh Hamal, the Prime Minister said that attention should be paid on the issues including tax exemption on trade and goods to be implemented in course of graduating Nepal being upgraded to a developing country and urged to defer the upgrading process by some years with the view that Nepal should now become export-oriented.

“We have deferred the project for two years so that we can export products produced in the country to different countries. “At present, the country needs a lot of money rather than a confidence boost. Our focus is on increasing the money. ’

Likewise, the government was trying to implement the policy of providing 10 per cent free service to the poor in education and health sectors across the country. On the occasion, PM Shah said that the government and the Rastriya Swatantra Party were committed to provide free education and health services to the poor people even though the constitution has mentioned the provision of free education and health.
