Three arrested for swindling millions of rupees in the name of sending them abroad

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons on the charge of swindling millions of rupees on the pretext of sending them abroad for foreign employment.

The arrestees have been identified as Shakti Rai, 31, of Solududhkunda municipality-1, currently staying in Budhanilkantha municipality-9, Bimala Dong, 39, of Sindhupalchowk, and Roshan Tamang, 31, of Gokarneshwor municipality-5, Kathmandu.

According to the police, they were arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by the victims that Shakti had taken Rs 1.95 lakh on the pretext of sending him to New Zealand, Rs 13.6 lakh on the pretext of sending him to Azerbaijan and Rs 2.4 million in the name of Roshan sending him to Canada.

Spokesperson Karki said that they were arrested from different places of Kathmandu and sent to the Department of Foreign Employment Tahachal, Kathmandu on Tuesday for necessary investigation and actions.
