Kathmandu. A committee has been formed to investigate into the incident when a tempo fell from a cliff while removing forest encroachment at Gaimare of Godavar i Municipality-4 in Kailali. The Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment has directed the Director of the State Forest Directorate, Dr. A probe committee has been formed under the convenorship of Hemraj Bista.
Secretary at the Ministry Dirgha Narayan Koirala said that the committee formed as per the ministerial-level decision has been given the responsibility to investigate the incident and submit its report within seven days.
The members of the committee are Assistant Chief District Officer Kiran Joshi of District Administration Office, Kailali, Janak Padhya, Senior Divisional Forest Officer of Division Forest Office, Pahalmanpur, Mechanical Engineer of Transport Management Office, Kailali, Dho jraj Joshi and Law Officer at the Ministry of Forest and Environment Bijaya Raj Ojha.
On June 12, a video of forest staff dropping a tempo from a cliff while removing encroachments had gone viral.
Secretary Koirala said that the Ministry would take the incident seriously and investigate into the incident and take action against the guilty.Police have arrested 12 forest officials for investigation into the incident.
