‘No clarity in budget’: Ex-Finance Minister Pun

Artha Sarokar

Kathmandu. Former Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has said that there is no clarity in the budget brought by the government for the coming fiscal year. Pun said this while speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu.

He said that although the budget has tried to incorporate various issues, it can be seen as ‘populist’ in nature to some extent from the overall structure.

Pun said that although the budget formulation has incorporated the issues raised by all the national parties, the government’s own clear political vision and priorities have not been sufficient.

According to former Finance Minister Pun, many of the programs look like continuation of the projects and policies of the previous governments.According to him, although the budget seems to have covered all the issues, it does not have a clear strategy, priorities and focused vision to deliver the expected results.
