Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RPP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said action would be taken against anyone who obstructs the entrance of some media houses on Monday.
On Monday, some media houses and vehicles with private number plates were found parked in front of the house of Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa. The vehicles were impounded by the police and fined.
Responding to a query by journalists at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, Lamichhane said action would be taken against the RSP cadres or whoever kept the vehicles.
Issuing a press release on Monday’s incident, party president Lamichhane said the party was always in favour of press freedom and action would be taken against those obstructing the vehicular movement.
“The RSP was the first to issue a statement protesting against the incident and expressed its view to take action against the culprits,” he said. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has a history of taking action against its lawmakers within 72 hours. Therefore, action will be taken against anyone and the involvement of RSP cadres. ‘
Responding to a query regarding his recent meeting with Prime Minister Balendra Shah, President Lamichhane said that during the meeting, the issues of landless landless squatters were resolved soon, various issues of the country, national politics and various aspects of the party.
