Kathmandu. It has been revealed that Citizens Bank has invested one and a quarter crores in the land that has been passed by the bank. It has been revealed that the Biratnagar branch of the bank had given a loan of Rs 1.30 crore by mortgaging the land in the name of Mohi.

Strangely, the bank seems to have given the loan in 3 hours by mortgaging the land that was leased. The borrower was found to have given a loan of Rs 1.30 crore against the collateral within three hours of taking the land ownership certificate to the bank. However, it is impossible to complete all the processes of bank paperwork, mortgage valuation, mortgage moratorium, loan approval, etc. in a day. Even the employees of the bank themselves say that 1 crore 30 lakh loans cannot be approved in a day.

What is ? 

Romi Devi Chaudhary is the landowner of plot number 80 of Rural Municipality-5 (12 15 Dhur). Ajab Lal Kewat was a tenant on the land.

The land was mortgaged by Dilip Kumar Chaudhary, the husband of Romi Devi, in 2079 BS with a loan of Rs. 13 lakhs from Raj endra Prasad .However, Rajendra Prasad sold the land to Sun Suppliers without in forming Dilip.

Thus, the land in which the tenant is owned cannot be disbursed by mortgaging such land without securing the right of the tenant or deducting the record of the tenant. 

However, in this case, the tenant (Ajbalal Kewat) has given a loan by keeping the land passed by on collateral. According to the evidences, the land was transferred in the name of Shah Haluwai, the board secretary of Sun Suppliers, in the name of Romi Devi on July 13.

The Biratnagar branch of Citizens Bank issued a loan of Rs 1.30 crore by pledging the land as collateral on July 14, a day after the land was approved. 

The source also claimed that on the other hand {{}} Bank has made an unusual valuation of of the land. According to sources, the actual market value of the land is around Rs 30 lakh. However, while approving the land at the Land Administration Office, it has been found that the valuation of the land has been fixed at Rs 43,65,600. 

After the case came to light, the Land Administration Office has added ‘Ajab Lal Kewat’ to the Mohi ‘s name-surname palace in the record.

However, the name of Mohi is not mentioned in the land certificate kept as collateral in the bank . The mischief of the employees of the bank is clearly visible in the disbursement of a loan of Rs. 1.30 crore in a day by mortgaging the land which has been passed in this manner. However, Bank did not respond to a request for comment. A complaint has also been lodged with the police in this regard. Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
