Kathmandu. Action will be taken against those selling fake and stolen footwear. Issuing a notice, the Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has issued a warning } to take action against those selling counterfeit, substandard and stolen footwear.
Through the same notice, the department has warned not to do such an illegal act, calling it illegal.
The department has taken action against this act after complaints were received that fake, sub-standard and stolen footwear were being sold.The department has said that counterfeit and stolen goods have hampered healthy competition as well as deceived consumers.
Similarly, the Department has made a provision for manufacturers to label the products produced by them as per Section 6 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
Despite this, has also warned of strict action if anyone is found selling counterfeit goods, giving to the smuggled importers or doing something against the interests of consumers.
