Kathmandu. Police have arrested two persons in possession of gold and silver ornaments from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Police have arrested two persons after gold and silver ornaments were found in the cloth cargo.

The cargo box containing shoes, sarees and other clothes was checked and metal ornaments that looked like gold and silver were found.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Unique Cargo is sending the equipment via Apex Logistics from Kathmandu to the USA. The arrested have been identified as Yagya Raj Subedi, 46, proprietor of Apex Logistics Pvt Ltd and Ram Prasad Dahal, 34, proprietor of Unique Cargo.

They have been handed over to Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office, Gauchar, for necessary legal action, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj Kumar Silwal at Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office.

Police confiscated 22 gold and silver ornaments, 22 big ones, 44 small ones, 14 gold and silver ornaments, 16 pieces of moon, 20 amulets and gold and silver jewelry from the cargo box.
