People’s Housing Programme: 38,938 houses handed over, more than 8,000 under construction

Kathmandu. So far, 38,938 houses have been handed over under the People’s Housing Programme, which has been implemented targeting the poor community. Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities (Women, Children, Gender and Sexuality, Sita Badi) and Social Security ( said this at a meeting of the National Assembly today.

According to him, 8,359 houses are currently under construction.According to her, 55,970 houses have been approved so far under the People’s Housing Programme.

Minister Badi said that 5,416 houses have been handed over to the Koshi River and 65 7 are under construction in the province. According to her, 15,534 houses were handed over in Madhes and 5,248 were under construction. 

Similarly, 2,076 houses have been handed over and 147 are under construction in Bagmati Municipality, 2,021 houses have been handed over and 159 are under construction in Gandaki Province and 6,522 houses have been handed over in Lumbini and 5,037 houses are under construction in Lumbini.She shared that 4,344 houses were handed over and 1,134 houses were under construction in Karnali state. 

Similarly, 3,018 houses were handed over in the Far-West and 468 houses are under construction, according to Minister Plaintiff.A total of 38,938 houses have been constructed and handed over across the country while 8,359 houses are under construction, she said.
