Petrol price cut by Rs 20 per litre, diesel by Rs 30 per litre

Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has slashed the prices of petroleum products. A meeting of the NOC Board of Directors on Tuesday reduced the price of petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel and LP gas.

The NOC has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 20 per litre and diesel and kerosene by Rs 30 per litre. Likewise, aviation fuel (domestic) has been reduced by Rs 40 per kilolitre while aviation fuel (international) has been reduced by USD 265 per kilolitre. The government has reduced the price of LP gas by Rs 100 per cylinder.

As per the new price list, petrol will now cost Rs 197 per litre while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 195 per litre in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal. Previously, the price of petrol in these areas was Rs 217 per liter and diesel was Rs 225 per liter.

Similarly, the price of petrol in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj is Rs 194.50 per litre and diesel is Rs 192.50 per litre. Under the second category, petrol will cost Rs 196 per litre while diesel will cost Rs 194 per litre.

The price of aviation fuel (domestic) will be Rs 229 per litre. Similarly, the price of aviation fuel in Nepal is being determined at USD 1,566 per kilolitre for Kathmandu, USD 1,100 per kilolitre for Pokhara and Rs 1,085 per kilolitre for Bhairahawa.

With this, the price of LP gas (14.2 kg) will now be available at Rs 2,060 per cylinder. Previously, the price of LPGP was Rs 2,160 per cylinder.

According to the NOC, the price adjustment has been in line with the fluctuation in the price of petroleum products in the international market and the new purchase price received from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
