Artha Sarokar

Kathmandu. Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamlesh Agrawal said that although Nepal’s economic policies are good on paper, they are complicated due to bureaucracy at the level of implementation. Agrawal said this while speaking at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) on Sunday.

President Agrawal said that despite abundant natural resources and potentials in Nepal, the country could not take the expected pace due to the lack of implementation of the right economic policy.

Targeting the delay in the name of legal reforms and administrative hassles, he accused the bureaucracy of violating the laws passed by the parliament in the name of regulations and procedures.

Referring to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Chamber of Commerce and the NRNA, he stressed the need of linking the capital, knowledge, skills and technology of the Nepalis scattered around the world with the development of the country by internalizing the spirit of ‘One Nepali once, always Nepali’.

Similarly, Agarwal has warned that if the investment climate does not improve, the domestic capital may also migrate. Both organizations have pledged to work together for the economic development of Nepal.
