Kathmandu. According to Nepal Police, 4,472 people, including foreign tourists, are out of contact due to the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 26. Central Police Spokesperson Avinarayan said this.

According to Kafle, 25 of the incommunicado, including policemen, were found dead and identified as such. Among theincommunicado employees are 15 from the customs office, four from immigration, 26 from the bank , three from Langtang National Park and 933 from eight hydropower, he said.

Spokesperson Kafle said that 562 people from Rasuwa, 115 from Nuwakot, 65 from Makwanpur and 225 from Sindhupalchowk have been reported to be out of contact. He said that 481 people are out of contact in Kathmandu Valley and 138 in Koshi Province. He said that some people’s representatives, including the vice-chairperson of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, are also out of contact.

According to him, 745 domestic and foreign tourists are among those who have gone missing due to the floods. Kafle also said that so far the bodies of 735 people have been found in the flood-affected districts. He said that 7,889 people have been mobilized in search, rescue and relief after the disaster.

Kafle said that rescue and search operations are currently underway in Timure, Syafrubesi and Rasuwagadhi area as well as in the tunnels of the hydropower. He said that some of the unidentified bodies have been managed in and have been temporarily managed as per international standards.
