Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation Limited (NOC) Lumbini Provincial Office Rupandehi has taken action against three tankers carrying petroleum products for unauthorised extraction of diesel. According to the NOC, diesel was taken from three tankers that had been transporting 20,000 liters of diesel from the Madhes provincial office in Amlekhgunj to the Bhalwari depot.

According to the NOC, the tankers (Lu 1 Kha 6504, Lu 2 Kha 1544 and Lu 1 Kha 6619) were seized from the tankers on the premises of Saraf Oil Stores in Bhairahawa of Siddharthanagar Municipality.

According to the corporation, the tankers (Lu 1 Kha 6504 and Lu 2 Kha 1544) were seized while they were extracting diesel from the tanker (Lu 1 Kha 6619) after disturbing the mechanical security locking system.

During the on-site inspection, it was found that the manhole was opened by jacking the locking system of three tankers and 30 liters of diesel was kept in a blue drum. The tanker driver, co-driver and pump operator have been sent to the District Police Office for necessary action.

Likewise, the NOC has slapped a fine of Rs 100,000 and stopped supplying petroleum products for six months to Saraf Oil Stores, according to NAC’s Lumbini Province Office Chief Shailendra Bhusal.

Action has also been taken against tanker drivers and helpers for lifetime from entering any depot and office of the corporation and barring them from operating tankers under the contract agreement.
