Kathmandu. Digital wallet Khalti by IME and ride-hailing platform InDrive have collaborated to make arrangements for taking and paying ride fares digitally. Under this collaboration, a three-month campaign has started targeting both drivers and passengers of InDrive.

Through this campaign, the in-drive ride fare can be paid from the pocket and the driver will also be able to take the ride fare in his pocket. With this, both the driver and the passenger will also get a chance to win daily prizes.

Under this campaign, drivers of In-Drive will be able to participate in the lucky draw only if they take at least five rides in a day through their pockets. According to the company, 10 drivers can get five liters of petrol as a reward every day.

Similarly, if the passengers of In-Drive pay the ride fare through Khalti, they will be able to participate in the lucky draw on that day. There will be no need for separate registration for this. Under this scheme, every day 10 passengers will get Rs. Khalti balance of Rs. 200.

This collaboration between Khalti and Indrive is expected to simplify the process of paying and receiving rides for daily commutes and will encourage both drivers and passengers to move towards digital mediums.

Prabin Regmi, Chief Executive Officer of IME Khalti Limited, said that the collaboration with InDrive is aimed at further expanding the ride payment related to daily commutes to the digital medium. Regmi said that this collaboration will prove to be a milestone in creating an environment of easy digital payment for both drivers and passengers and making the use of digital payments a part of daily practice.

The company has also mentioned that this campaign will create an environment of ease for both passengers and drivers. The campaign will run from September 25, 2008 to December 10, 2083.
