Kathmandu. Various major highways and road sections in Bagmati Province have been affected due to floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains. According to the latest details made public by Nepal Police, some roads are completely blocked while one-way traffic is being operated in others.
The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road section has been completely obstructed due to floods and landslides at Khalte of Uttargaya rural municipality-5 in Rasuwa district.
Vehicular movement has been stopped from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am at Ghattekhola of Shivapuri Rural Municipality in Nuwakot along the Tokha-Chhahare and Pasang Lhamu road sections. The road has been completely disrupted at Simtar of Betrawati Municipality-10.
The road has been blocked due to a landslide at Krishnabhir of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7 in Dhading along the Prithvi Highway, while small vehicles are plying on the one-lane road at Parewa Chir in Gajuri-2. According to the police, one-way traffic has been allowed after removing landslides at Jwadkhola and Kamerebhir.
Vehicular movement along the Kathmandu-Dhading road section has begun at Chisapani of Chandragiri municipality-2 following the clearance of landslide last night.
A time limit has been set for the operation of vehicles in Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi area of Kavrepalanchowk along the BP Highway keeping in mind the risk of floods. Cargo vehicles up to 10 tons will be allowed to ply from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am and other vehicles will be allowed to operate from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm after assessing the situation.
Police have urged the public to know the condition of the roads before going out and not to travel in risky areas at night.
