Forward Microfinance donates Rs 30 lakh to Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi flood victims

Kathmandu. Forward Microfinance Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited has deposited Rs 30 lakh 665 to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi region on August 26.

The organization has donated the amount to help the affected people as the floods in the Bhotekoshi River have caused a huge loss of life and property in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading and surrounding districts. According to the company secretary of the organization, Binod Kumar Chaudhary, the amount has been deposited in the fund.

Out of the total amount, Rs 1.6 million has been collected from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund and Rs 14,665 collected from the employees.

The organization has paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the floods and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. It has also urged the concerned authorities to carry out rescue and relief work in the affected areas effectively.

Bhagawati Chaudhary, chairperson of Forward Microfinance, said that the organization has contributed to the relief campaign of the government in the interest of the country and people when the country was in the grip of disaster.

Forward Microfinance is a ‘D’ class microfinance financial institution with a national-level jurisdiction licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank. The organization currently provides financial services to women from poor and underprivileged communities through 159 branches in 40 districts of Nepal. It is said that 2,84,000 customers are members of the organization.
