Kathmandu. Nepal Police has arrested a youth for making an insulting video and disseminating it on social media about the loss of life and property caused by the floods in Bhotekoshi.
The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested 24-year-old Birendra Madai of Sunarya Rural Municipality-7 in Baitadi and currently living in Balambu, Kathmandu.
Spokesperson of the Bureau, Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri said that the arrestees were made on social media with the intention of demeaning and insulting various castes and expressing happiness over the disaster.
Spokesperson Giri said that the remand under the Electronic Transaction Act, 2063 has been extended by the Kathmandu District Court and necessary investigation is underway.
