Kathmandu. The public debt has crossed Rs 30 trillion. The total public debt of the government has reached Rs 30.911 trillion till mid-October of the current fiscal year 2083/84.

At the beginning of the current fiscal year, the total public debt of the government was Rs 2,981.70 billion. Since then, in the 3 months, the government has borrowed Rs 123.32 billion 32.58 billion.

Out of the total public debt of the government, the share of foreign debt is 53.13 percent (15 trillion 98.80 billion rupees and the share of internal debt 46.87 percent (14 trillion 10.31 billion Lakhs .

In the same period, the government paid a total of Rs 77.74 billion in principal.

The government has set a target of mobilizing a total of Rs 658.28 billion in public debt in the current fiscal year and has received Rs 123.32 billion by mid-October.
