Kathmandu. Millions of rupees of customers have been found to have disappeared from Citizens Bank. More than Rs 3 crore has been found missing from the account of F1Soft, which has an account with the bank.

The incident came to light after the company filed a complaint with the police alleging that Rs 34.2 million was stolen from the account of F1Soft, which runs digital wallets and digital payments such as eSewa and FonePay.

Based on the complaint filed by the company, the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police is investigating the case. According to a source at the police, the company has said in the complaint that it has lost crores of rupees from its account in Citizens Bank and that they are not even aware of the missing.

Police suspect that a foreign gang was involved in the theft by hacking the banking system. Police said investigation is underway based on the case. How was the bank account hacked? Police sources said that the case is yet to be ascertained.

Deposits of other people at Citizens Bank are also at risk after hackers were found to have stolen about three and a half crores of F1soft money from their bank accounts. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
