Kathmandu. The Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN) organized an interaction program on the Budget and Finance Bill, 2083. The program was organized by ACAN on June 29 at Himalayan Hotel, Kupondole.
The program began at 3:15 p. m. On the occasion, the experts held extensive discussions on tax reforms, stability of the financial sector, development of private sector and sustainable economic growth in the budget and finance bill-2083.
During the program, the then President of ACAN Arun Raut presented working papers while Vice President Anil Lamichhane and General Secretary Pradeep Aryal facilitated the sessions.
The first session, ‘Tax Reform in Finance Bill 2083: Driving Corporate Growth and Innovation’, discussed how to promote private sector competitiveness, investment promotion, and innovation through tax reform.
The second session ‘Financial Sector Resilience under Budget 2083’ discussed the stability of the banking, insurance and financial sectors, regulatory reforms and economic challenges. After the government unveiled the budget and finance bill for the fiscal year 2083/84, the program was organized to discuss tax policy, revenue reform, investment-friendly environment and possibilities of sustainable economic growth from the business and policy perspective.
Chartered Accountants, representatives from the financial sector, industrialists and policy experts were present in the program. The participants were of the view that collaboration between the private and public sectors was necessary for the effective implementation of the provisions of the Budget and Finance Bill-2083, reform of tax system and sustainable economic development.
