Kathmandu. Global technology company Google has started the process of building its largest artificial intelligence (AI) hub outside the US in India, according to international media. The project, which is being built in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, is seen as a major technological breakthrough in South Asia.
According to reports, the projects worth about $15 billion will be used to develop cloud computing, data processing, AI research and digital infrastructure. Google has chosen India as a strategic hub because of its global digital market, technological workforce and rapidly expanding AI ecosystem.
In recent years, the Indian government has been pursuing a policy to attract foreign investment in the digital economy, semiconductors, AI and high-tech sectors. As a result, multinational tech companies are investing heavily in India.
According to experts, this project could give India a stronger position in the global AI competition. It is also expected to create thousands of technical jobs and have a huge impact in research, startup, and digital services sectors.
This move of India is considered strategically important in the context of rapidly increasing AI and digital competition in South Asia. According to analysts, regional countries, including Nepal, need to pay more attention to technology education, digital infrastructure and AI policies.
