Kathmandu. Kanchanpur: A foundation stone has been laid for the construction of a new building of Shree Maheshwar Secondary School at Bhimdutta municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district. First Secretary at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Bashishta Nandan and Deputy Mayor of Bhimdutta Municipality, Neelam Lekhak Joshi jointly laid the foundation stone for the building.

The school building will be constructed under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) with the financial assistance of about Rs 1.90 crore from the Government of India. The project will be implemented by Bhimdutta Municipality.

It is the 11th High Impact Community Development Project being implemented in Kanchanpur District. On the occasion, the people’s representatives of Bhimdatta Municipality and other stakeholders appreciated the Indian government’s support for the development of the school and expressed their confidence that the new school building would create safe and quality learning environment for students and teachers.

The Indian side stated that it would continue its cooperation in the development of infrastructure in priority areas including education in order to further strengthen close neighbourly relations and multi-dimensional cooperation between Nepal and India. It is also believed that such projects would support the government’s campaign of development and prosperity.
