The business of green bangles has increased with the arrival of July

Kathmandu. The business of green bangles and mehendi has increased in the federal capital Kathmandu with the beginning of July. The business of bangles and mehendi has increased in the market due to the increase in the number of women living in urban areas wearing mehndi, green bangles and yellow bangles on their hands in recent months.

Hindus consider the month of Saun as the month of Lord Shiva. Hindu men and women worship Lord Shiva throughout the month of Saun. In the month of July, women wear green bangles and yellow bangles on their hands. Similarly, men wear yellow clothes.

Ahmad Musalman, who has been selling bangles at Indrachowk in Kathmandu, said that the business of bangles has increased in his shop of late. “In other times, it used to be worth Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per day, but in the last two to four days, it used to be worth Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 per day,” he said.

Hasan Ansari, another entrepreneur of the same area, said that people throng his shop to buy bangles. “During the wedding season, the number of customers used to come to our shop in large numbers, but in the beginning of July, the number of customers has increased compared to other times,” Ansari said.

The number of customers has increased in Asan, Indrachowk, Bagbazaar, the main markets of Kathmandu before the onset of July. Its business has increased in the market especially due to the religious and cultural tradition of married women wearing green bangles and bangles in the month of July. Similarly, there is a crowd of women wearing mehndi from the beauty parlor to the street.

New designs of green bangles and paintings have been put on sale in various markets of the capital. Both domestic and imported bangles and pots have been put up for sale keeping in mind the choice of the customers.

Saraswati Dawadi, who came to Indrachowk from Gongabu to buy green bangles and grandeur, said wearing green bangles and bangles in the month of July will help preserve the cultural tradition.

Similarly, in the month of Saun, people wear mehndi, wear green clothes and participate in religious activities together with family and friends.

Past executive director of the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, Acharya Laxman Panthi, said that according to the legend, Mata Parbati used to wear green bangles, grandeur and mehendi on her hands to please her husband Mahadev in the month of Saun.

“The month of Saun is also related to greenery, during this month there is more rainfall, plants and plants climb and women wear green bangles for the culture that suits nature,” he said. He said that the importance of Churapote is increasing more and more as Teej approaches.

According to Acharya Panthi, the culture of wearing bangles is imported from India. According to him, most of the people in India wear green bangles and yellow bangles.
