Dang. The members and employees of the Bijauri Small Farmers Agriculture Cooperative Society located in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-18 of Dang are now busy with marigold.
The cooperative, which has 1,200 members, has been busy in taking care of the cultivation of Sayapatri by renting one bigha of land in Bankatta. Chitra Dhital, chairperson of the organization, said that this kind of cultivation has been done targeting the festivals. “Now all the working committee and employees are taking care of this Hazari farming. “We are here as it is the season of Hazari. ’
According to him, the ‘Karma’ variety of Sayapatri has been cultivated. Initially, about three lakh more has been spent. The cost of seeds, mulching and ploughing the field has been comparable.
Chairman Dhital said that he was worried after the marigolds bloomed within 45 days of planting on August 11 targeting the Tihar. He said that he was worried that if the marigolds bloomed before Dashain, the income would not be as expected. “I had targeted the Tihar. “But because of the flowers bloomed in Dashain, I wonder if the income will not be as expected.” ’
He said that if the Sayapatri is irrigated regularly, it will bloom up to three times, so he is working accordingly. Chairman Dhital said that the target is to earn Rs 12 to 16 lakh.
Chairman Dhital said that even though the flowers bloomed before Dashain, they were sent to Kathmandu for publicity through social media. About two quintals of flowers have already been sent to Kathmandu in September using social networks like Tiktok and Facebook. He said that there is demand from abroad.
This type of cultivation was done by renting the land for five years. The land was rented at the rate of two thousand rupees per annum. He said that since it is an agricultural cooperative, good money can be obtained from Sayapatri.
