Birgunj Customs collects Rs 177 billion revenue in 9 months

Kathmandu. Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 177.66 billion in revenue in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The office collected Rs 16.20 billion or 10 per cent more revenue in the first nine months of the last fiscal year compared to the same period of the last fiscal year.

Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, Udaya Singh Bista, said that the Birgunj Customs Office collected 89 per cent of the target revenue in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The Department of Customs had set a target of Rs 199.34 billion for the office in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

Birgunj Customs collected Rs 18.44 billion in July, Rs 20.73 billion in August, Rs 19.9 billion in September, Rs 17.33 billion in October and Rs 20.80 billion in November.

Similarly, the collection collected Rs 20.20 billion in December, Rs 18.92 billion in January, Rs 19.34 billion in February and Rs 22.82 billion in March. Earlier, the Department of Customs had set a target of collecting Rs 273.39 billion revenue in the year. However, only 65 per cent of the total annual target has been collected so far in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. There is still a possibility of additional revenue collection as there are still three months left for the current fiscal year.
