Kathmandu. A team deputed from the District Police Office has arrested four persons with counterfeit currency notes.
The arrestees have been identified as Bishnu Shrestha, 36, of Banganga Municipality-2, Mukti Prasad Khanal aka Sujan Khanal, 28, of Devchali Municipality-15, Nawalparasi (East), Rol Bahadur Shrestha, 35, of Chautara Sangachowkgadhi Municipality-8, Sindhupalchowk and Dipendra Thapa, 53, of Budhanilkantha Municipality-9, Kathmandu.
Information Officer at the District Police Office and Deputy Inspector of Police Krishna Kumar Chand said that the police had received special information that the Nepali currency notes were being traded in different places of the district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team deputed from the District Police Office and its subordinate offices arrested four persons along with 21 units of counterfeit Nepali currency from Siddharthanagar municipality-5 (Bhairahawa) on April 6 and from Bhachkaiya of Sainamaina municipality-10 on April 6.
The four arrested have been made public and further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
