Kathmandu. The Nepalgunj airport has started providing free trolleybus service to Nepalgunj passengers. The service has been brought into operation by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

According to the Nepalgunj Airport Office, the trolleybus service has been operated to facilitate the movement of passengers from the airport to Ranjha Chowk.

This service has been started especially targeting the elderly, children, people with disabilities and passengers traveling with many luggage.

Sarita Sharma, a passenger, said the free trolleybus service was a big relief. “I have come to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu today. I feel relieved from the high fees charged by the auto driver while coming down here and the heat of bargaining with the auto driver,” she said.

Santosh Kumar Pokharel, chief of Nepalgunj Airport, said that the service has been expanded by prioritizing the convenience of the passengers. “The bus with a capacity of around 25 seats is completely disabled-friendly,” he said. It has been operated with the intention of providing easy access to the passengers who are physically uncomfortable. ‘

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, various reforms are being carried out to make the airport’s service delivery more systematic, modern and passenger-friendly.
