Nepal Rastra Bank announces Rs 5,000 annual exchange facility for IT exporters

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has decided to provide additional exchange facility to the companies importing foreign currency by exporting software and information technology (IT) from Nepal. 

Nepal Rashtra Bank ( has issued a Unified Circular-2082 for the ease of doing business of IT exporters by providing prepaid dollar card facility up to USD 5,000 per annum.

While the IT industry has a limit of up to $ 3,000 per annum for the purchase of services online, the bank has become flexible in the case of industries involved in exports.On the basis of foreign currency earned, such companies will get exchange facility up to $ 2,000 (total $ 5,000 .

This feature will help Nepalese startups and software companies working abroad to be competitive in the international market.They will be able to spend a portion of the money they earn on cloud storage, server hosting and the necessary software to expand their business.
