Kathmandu. Public transport fares have been hiked again. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has hiked the public transport fare following the hike in fuel prices.
The Department has increased the public transport fare to be operated in the inter-state from Wednesday.
According to the department, the fare has been increased by 5 percent for inter-province passenger vehicles, goods vehicles operating on hilly routes and goods carriers operating on Terai routes.
Earlier, the fare of public transport was increased on April 25. After the hike in fuel fares, the public transport fare has also been increased. However, the increased fare will not be applicable in the case of electric vehicles.
