Schools in Kathmandu Metropolitan City to open from April 29

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced that all the schools in the metropolis will start teaching and learning activities from April 29 under the new academic year 2083.

Issuing a notice on April 23, KMC Department stated that the decision was taken keeping in mind the decision of the Government of Nepal and the request of Kathmandu Valley Mayors Forum.

According to the notice, the decision was taken to remove the confusion that has arisen among the stakeholders following the beginning of the new academic session, the impact on teachers, staff and students, the preparation of the school management committee and the analysis of the overall educational situation.

As per the decision of the Education and Health Committee of the KMC on April 26, all schools have been directed to run all educational activities including the teaching and learning activities of the academic session 2083 from April 29.

The Department of Education has urged all schools, school inspectors, resource teachers and concerned stakeholders within the metropolis to implement the notice. It has also directed the Department of Information Technology to upload the information on the website of the metropolis.

In the notice issued by the departmental chief Namaraj Dhakal, the concerned bodies have been requested to make the necessary coordination, facilitation and information dissemination effective in the operation of the school. The metropolis has urged parents, students and teachers to actively participate in the school operation from the scheduled date.
