Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has fined two firms. The bank has penalized West Shopping Centre Thamel Rs 205,000 as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS and Consumer Protection Rules-2076 BS after it was found negligent in course of monitoring.

Similarly, the court has also slapped a fine of Rs 2.05 lakh on Kantipur Café Apparel Port. Heaven Handicraft 26 Thamel and Good Luck Trekking Shop Thame have been directed to present themselves with documents related to the business.

The Department monitored a total of 47 firms on Monday and issued corrective directives to 43 firms. The Department has been regularly monitoring in the presence of consumer rights activists and stakeholders.
