60 per cent of the budget spent in 10 months, only 28 per cent of development expenditure

Kathmandu. As of mid-April of the current fiscal year, the government’s budget expenditure has been around 60 percent of the annual allocation.

According to the Office of Financial Comptroller General, Rs 1,173.52 billion has been spent in the last 10 months. The government has so far spent 59.75 per cent of the total budget for the current fiscal year out of which Rs 1,964.11 billion has been present.

According to the office, Rs 814.655 billion or 68.98 per cent or 68.98 per cent has been spent till mid-April of the current fiscal year. Likewise, Rs 113.84 billion or 27.91 per cent of the total capital expenditure of Rs 407.88 billion has been allocated.

So far, 65.30 per cent of the budget has been spent towards financial management. The government has allocated Rs 375.24 billion for the current fiscal year under this heading, of which Rs 245.01 billion has been spent so far.

As of mid-April, the government’s income has shrunk to 66 percent of the annual target. The government has so far earned Rs 1,012.05 billion against the target of Rs 1,533.44 billion for the current fiscal year. The government has collected only Rs 988.55 billion or 66.69 per cent of the annual target in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year.

The government has so far received 33.28 per cent or Rs 17.78 billion in foreign aid against the target of Rs 53.44 billion for the current fiscal year.
