Kathmandu. Two persons have been arrested on the charge of swindling money by promising to send them to Malaysia for foreign employment. Ranju Kumari Shah, 41, and Maiti Maya Thokar, 38, have been arrested on the charge of cheating money on the pretext of sending them to Malaysia on ‘free visa, free ticket’.
They had collected Rs 12,000 each from 152 people for medical check-up and police report and collected original passports from the victims, saying that they would take them to Malaysia on free visa, free ticket.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused for not collecting money from the unemployed youths and sending them abroad on the pretext of lucrative salary. A police team deputed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested them on the basis of the complaint.
They have collected money from 152 people and have come in contact with 35 victims so far.
