NHRC recommends action against Oli, writers and Gurung

Kathmandu. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended action against then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung. Making public the report of the committee formed to investigate the Gen-G movement, the NHRC has recommended action against Oli, Lekhak and Gurung. 

The report of the commission has concluded that Oli, the writer and Gurung have violated human rights . 

and have been found to have violated human rights and and can be prosecuted and prosecuted under Article 249 (2) (c) of the Constitution of Nepal, the report said. 

Even Oli did not heed the suggestion of other ministers to immediately lift the ban on social media after the agitation intensified, otherwise the situation could be worse. 

Similarly, the report has claimed that the protests started on September 23 due to the ban on social media and the situation created after that was the main reason for the situation.Apart from this, Oli has not taken any decision regarding the mobilization of the army and has not fulfilled the obligation to fulfill the obligation as per the law, which has violated human rights

Meanwhile, the Commission has also stated that even the then Home Minister Lekhak did not order the firing of the Gen-G movement. In the case of the then Communications Minister Gurung, the report states that he vi olated human rights by banning the social media by issuing directives banning the fundamental rights.

Similarly, the NHRC’s report has recommended that a new law should be formulated to take action against Oli, Lekhak and Gurung as there are no human rights officers violators in Nepal.
