First month of the current fiscal year: Significant increase in government revenue, improvement in capital expenditure

Kathmandu. In the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84, there has been a significant increase in government revenue. According to the Office of Financial Comptroller General, the government earned Rs 93.43 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year. This is an increase of about 10 percent or Rs 8.24 billion compared to the total receipts of the first month of the last fiscal year.

According to the Financial Comptroller General’s Office, the total receipt of tax is Rs. 85. 19 billion and the total receipt of non-tax is Rs. 7.034 billion.Similarly, the government has received Rs 240.3 million in foreign grants in the first month. The government has set a target to make a total income of Rs 1,642.06 billion for the current fiscal year.

According to the Financial Comptroller General’s Office, the budget expenditure for the first month of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 41.88 billion.The government had allocated a total budget of Rs 2124.34 billion for the current fiscal year. The budget expenditure for the month of July is 1.97 percent of the annual allocation.

has been allocated for the current heading of Rs 1,270.58 billion this year, while Rs21.40 billion has been spent till mid-July. 

Similarly, Rs 431.10 billion has been allocated for capital heading, out of which 0.0.31 per cent has been spent.A total of Rs 19.15 billion has been spent till mid-July for financial management. This is equivalent to 4.53 percent of the annual appropriation under this heading.
